Tarneeb Rules
A popular trick-taking card game played in many Middle Eastern countries.

Basic Rules

Tarneeb is a trick-taking card game played with a standard 52-card deck. It is typically played by four players in two partnerships, with partners sitting opposite each other.

Objective

The objective is to win as many tricks as possible. Before play begins, there is a bidding phase where teams bid on how many tricks they think they can win (from 7 to 13).

Bidding

Starting with the dealer's right, each player can either bid or pass. Each bid must be higher than the previous bid. The highest bidder chooses the trump suit (tarneeb) and must win at least the number of tricks bid.

Scoring

If the bidding team wins at least as many tricks as they bid, they score 1 point for each trick bid. If they fail, they lose the number of points they bid. The non-bidding team scores 1 point for each trick they win regardless of the outcome.

Winning

The first team to reach 41 points wins the game.
